Hello! I’m Sel Pilgrim
Silver & Goldsmith
Contemporary Jeweler
Sel began his career in jewellery in 1970 and has always manufactured and retailed jewellery, objects, and art pieces from his own studio.
During this time he exhibited annually with the Queensland Jewellery Workshop (JMGQ) and at such premier galleries as Design Art, Victor Mace and Cintra House.
In 1980 moving to new premises in Short Street, Southport, allowed him to explore a new concept by opening a studio/workshop/school/showroom. In the studio, jewellery was made exclusively for commission clients, while the school catered for some forty students.
1987 Sel purpose built the Studio he now creates in “Studio 87” . The studio still caters for students on a weekly basis as well as receives clients wishing to place a commission.
1988 Sel became the National President of Jewellers and Metalsmiths Australia and hosted the 5th Biennial Conference (JMGA) on the Gold Coast.
2023 Sel continues to create original works for his clients.
